Freedom Run 5000 :Our Purpose "We believe that education can change the world. Freedom Run 5000, a student-founded initiative, will impact the future of Afghanistan by educating Afghan women. We plan to build 100 classrooms, each one enabling thousands of women over the years to receive an education. And the legacy will continue as these women educate others. Because it costs only $5000 to build a classroom, if 5000 people donate $100 each, 100 classrooms will be built—and donors can impact thousands, not only for this generation, but also for the next."
Lopen voor "A Better World". De tekst hierboven is volgens ons duidelijk genoeg en behoeft eigenlijk geen aanvulling. Frank en Yvonne hebben (ongetraind!) meegelopen met de 5 km. Het weer was goed, de weg was goed en er was voldoende belangstelling. Het was in elk geval een goede start op de zondagochtend. Voor meer info, zie http://www.freedomrun5000.org/ Het boek 'Three Cups of Tea' was voor Azalea (zij is degene die met deze freedumrun is begonnen) de grote aanleiding om zich in te zetten voor de vrijwilligersorganisatie "A Better World".
